Using orange in your exteriors

With the autumn season upon us, we’ve been embracing warmer colours outdoors and in. From the leaves on the trees to the pumpkins that decorate our Halloween tables, the colour orange seems to be everywhere. If you’re interested in incorporating some orange into your exteriors, read on to find out how!

An orange front door: If you want a pop of colour on your house to help liven things up without overpowering, orange (or any other bold colour) is certainly worth considering. Keep things more subdued yet stylish with a burnt orange or warm terracotta (very on-trend this season!), or go all out with a brighter orange. With our Colourmix service, you can select any shade you’d like and have it mixed to your chosen formula, allowing for complete customisation when it comes to your colour journey! A great thing about orange is that it’s very suitable any time of the year— it’s buoyant and bright in summertime, but it’s also warm and inviting in cooler months.

An autumnal wreath: Make your entryway stand out in style with a beautiful wreath. Wreaths add ambiance to your exteriors, and for autumn we love wreaths that incorporate beautifully coloured leaves—shades of orange, yellow, red and green work well—and other seasonal elements such as pinecones, branches, berries and greenery. Secure the wreath with a lovely ribbon for even more interest. You can create your own wreath for a fun weekend activity, or there are plenty of gorgeous options for purchase.

Pumpkins and gourds: ‘Tis the season to embrace pumpkins and gourds! These are perfect for the lead up to Halloween and throughout the rest of autumn, and can easily be formed into a stylish arrangement for your entryways or garden area. Carving pumpkins is a fantastic activity that the whole family can enjoy together and placing candles in carved pumpkins will give your exteriors a beautiful glow.

Orange chrysanthemums: Mums are everywhere this time of year because they thrive in the autumn climate. Mums come in a wide variety of shades so you can bring plenty of colour and liveliness to your exteriors.

A creative mural: A mural is a great way to add colour and interest to your exteriors. An artistic touch to one of your exterior walls is a fun touch and an excellent way to display your creativity. When it comes to murals, the possibilities are endless so you can let your imagination run wild and create a mural that is completely your own. Our Ultra Smooth Masonry paint works perfectly for this and, again, this product can be mixed to whatever shade you’d like with our Colourmix service.
